Hello everyone, welcome back to AutoAnorak. Today is one for the Bond fans! Let’s get straight into an in depth look at the star cars of the latest James Bond movie, No Time To Die!
Aston Martin V8 Vantage – Speaking of brutality. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage is the definition of the word in car form. These were proper English muscle cars in their era and produced in and around 400hp. That was more than the new V8 Vantage when it was released around 20 years later in 2004. Bond takes this car on an epic chase across Norway. It’s a car that we have all wished to make a comeback in the franchise and boy are we happy that it’s here! The price tag? Touching about about £200,000. .
Land rover Defender (NTTD edition) – It’s no secret that Jaguar Land Rover have a huge contract with the James Bond franchise. So it would be rude for the company to not supply an assortment of blacked out new Land Rover Defenders for the big screen. JLR are so excited about it that they’ll be producing a limited run of 300 Defenders dubbed the Defender V8 Bond Edition. It’s blacked out with Xenon Blue Brake calipers, smoked out taillights, quad exhausts, tiny 007 details and honking great 5.0 supercharged V8. Don’t expect it to be cheap. Prices are rumoured at over £105,000.
Jaguar XF – Next it’s time for a JAAAAAGGGG. Unfortunately, this isn’t something as spectacular as Jaguar XKR with missiles or a Jaguar CX75 Concept car but a Jag nevertheless. The XF is of course driven by the bad guys and gets into some interesting bits of trouble. You can buy a new XF from just over £31,000.
Aston Martin DB5 – If you somehow haven’t seen it in a Bond movie already, well now’s your chance. The Aston Martin DB5 is undoubtedly the most recognisable car in any movie franchise full stop. Feel free to argue with me about that Fast & Furious fans. Aston Martin themselves have even created replicas of the original DB5 bond car to sell as brand new cars to clients at extortionate prices. You may call it a cash grab, but I say the more classic Aston Martins with machine guns on them, the better! Unfortunately, it will cost in the region of £4,000,000…
Aston Martin DBS Superleggera – My only complaint about the DB5 is that we’ve seen so much of it before and I wish bond would get into something newer. Well here it is in all of its 710 horsepower traction breaking glory. In no time to die the DBS is driven by new agent 00 Nomi and it’s fair to say that this car certainly makes a statement when it arrives in the film. These are £225,000 new but can now be scooped up for as low as £170,000. I know, what a bargain!
Land Cruiser – Prado – Here’s some groundbreaking information. James Bond drives a Toyota in No Time to Die. That’s right, Daniel Craig ditches the Astons and JLR products for some Jap goodness. Unfortunately it’s not a crossover with Han from Fast and Furious in which Han gives him the keys to his Supra, but he does drive the legendary Toyota Landcruiser. Specifically, a Land Cruiser 90 series or Prado J90. Unsurprisingly, this is a bulletproof choice for Bond as he chases some Triumph motorbikes off road. You can easily pick one up for about £8,000
Aston Martin Valhalla – Finally we have the car I am most excited about in this movie. The Aston Valhalla has changed a lot in the last year or so. It went from V6 to a V8 twin turbo AMG engine and the body has completely changed. The Valhalla in the movie follows the design of the original concept car. Personally, I feel that the new design is a huge improvement and with 937hp on tap, the performance isn’t half bad either. Aston have put this Aston into the new Forza Horizon 5 game and in a crossover almost as surprising as my Fast and Furious James Bond fantasy, James Bond have partnered with Rocket League to put Bond’s Valhalla in the game. If you want one in real life, expect to pay around £1,000,000. That is if you can get on the waiting list…
